United will listen to offers for £90k p/w starter whom they’ve already lined up a replacement for

Manchester United are expected to oversee a significant summer overhaul in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s first-ever transfer window as co-owner.

One player who has seemingly been deemed sellable is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to a fresh report on Monday morning from Manchester Evening News.

At the beginning of the year, United opted to activate the one-year extension in the defender’s contract – which sees him earn £90,000 per week – giving themselves full control over their asset’s future.

Wan-Bissaka has played an integral role in what could end up being his final season at Old Trafford, although that’s largely been due to the injury crisis that’s left Erik ten Hag with a depleted squad since the campaign began.

He now takes turns with counterpart Diogo Dalot in deputising for sidelined left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, but when everyone’s fit, the Portugal star is undoubtedly Ten Hag’s preferred starter on the right side of defence.

Reds line up Wan-Bissaka replacement

MEN claims that United will listen to any offers that may arrive for Wan-Bissaka in the summer, and should one suit their valuation of the 26-year-old, that could give the club the green light they need to ignite their pursuit of Jeremie Frimpong.

Indeed, the Reds have been linked with the Bayer Leverkusen starlet for some time now, with reports suggesting that they can only sanction his arrival if Wan-Bissaka is exiting the other way.

Frimpong, 23, is fresh off the back of becoming a Bundesliga champion with Xabi Alonso’s scintillating side. He will be paying little attention to the speculation surrounding his name until the season ends, given that Leverkusen have the Europa League semi-finals and DFB Pokal final on the horizon.
